Stevie Wonder’s Mama

Stevie Wonder’s mum, Lula, was one courageous Mama! After enduring a difficult childhood and years of abuse in marriage, she took her son away to Detroit for a fresh start. It was there that Stevie began to sing on street corners and gained the name “Little Stevie Wonder”. It was Lula who persuaded him to do so, and eventually, negotiated and signed his first contract. I hope as a mama, to teach my own children to be fearless and persevere like Lula did.
